Watercolor Debacle

My first real experience with watercolor came today. It was horrid. We had to watercolor 10 objects, and let's just say, about 4 of them ended up looking anything like the object I was observing. I thought I was going to open my box of watercolors and find something like the childhood Crayola watercolors I used to paint with. To my surprise, there were tiny tubes of paint instead. Anyway, I finished my 10 objects, hovered over them during class, and decided I was going to have to work at it quite a bit. Rusty said a control freak does not equal a good watercolor(er), so that's my goal. "Let it be!"

We painted landscapes today. That was interesting. I was afraid of the paint and water at first, but I got used to it throughout class and started throwing it all over the paper. We have 10 watercolors due for Wednesday, so there will be quite a lot of landscaping going on...and not the kind where you get a good tan. :\
